The keycaps on my Quickfire Rapid are from a company called Signature Plastics. Thankfully these ABS keycaps are easily replacable. Most users don't care about the keycap plastic used in the keycaps, so these will feel fine to most peole. The font is terrible and the material shines easily. The one problem that I had with this keyboard was the fact that the stock keycaps are ugly. The media keys are accessed by holding down the Fn (function) key and pressing one of the keys in the F-key row. I personally don't use media keys but I wanted to bring this feature up. The Quickfire Rapid has media keys in the Fn layer. This can be a useful feature for cable management. It can be routed straight out the back of the board or to one side of the keyboard. The included braided cable is detatchable (and very high quality). These top covers are popular because they can be painted or decorated to your heart's content, then easily swapped out. You can buy either a black or a grey top cover on the CMStorm store website for only $10. The top casing of the keyboard is also swappable. This makes it very easy to find keycaps for. The Quickfire Rapid has a 100% standard layout, and is compatible with almost every keycap set that is mass-produced. They are almost identical in feel but have different PCBs. Quickfire Rapid keyboards are manufactured by the same OEM that manufactures Filco keyboards. Also, the stabilizers that keep large keys balanced are Costar, which are nice crisp stabilizers as opposed to the somewhat "mushy" feeling Cherry stabilizers. This assures that there will be no switch wobble and your typing will feel very solid. The switches are mounted on a sturdy metal plate, as opposed to PCB-mounted switches found on some other mechanical keyboards.

The Quickfire Rapid's build quality is phenomenal. It often goes on sale and the price has been known to sometimes even drop below $60.
